Nice David Bowie post today over at The Ghost Of Electricity. I often wonder what would have happened if Hunky Dory had been the huge hit it deserved to be on original release. Ive always been of the opinion that Hunky Dory is the best Bowie album. Varied and musical it has it all. And Queen Bitch, well, what a track.........
It’s certainly a contender, and it meant that when he hit the big time with Ziggy there was at least one brilliant album in the back catalogue. Now, if it had been a huge hit would he still have done the Ziggy thing and would it have had the same impact if it wasn’t so out of the blue? Of course, we will never know but it’s a good pub debate.
