I went shopping today and picked up a bargain (see above). Donna Summers (and Giorgio Moroder’s) “rags to riches” concept album Once Upon A Time. Originally a double LP in four Acts sides one and four are the disco sides with no breaks between tracks (similar to the MacArthur Park Suite), side three is mostly slower material (with the extraordinary Dance Into My Life) and side two is the electronic side featuring this:

Oooh, you jammy git!!
Is this my prize for having to put up with Phil?
It's bloody lovely btw.
Well, if nothing else that Phil song is of historical interest. I loved that LP when I was eight. If you want I can send you some more Donna (or Phil).
Have you got Giorgio Moroder's From Here To Eternity - same sorta thing - but the single version of the title track is the sound of 1977 expressed through synth's
Here you go - From Here To Eternity - single edit
*faints from the electro-overload*
I've got the 'From Here To Eternity' single and you're right - it's brilliant.
Grand stuff matey. Damn good price too!
I was up at Notting Hill Gate last night and saw this on vinyl for six quid but did not buy it - yeah, I know, but double albums are hard work aren't they, all that having to get up and turn it over all the time? So anyway I got home a bit drunk and ordered it off of Amazon on CD ; )
Yo'll love it from the moment it starts. Side one really is another 'MacArthur Park Suite'.
Excellant!
