Mick Karn lost his battle with cancer on 4th January 2011. He was only 52.The best tribute I can pay him is he changed the way I thought about bass playing. Probably yours to if you’re about my age.
Here’s some old favourites featured on this blog way back in 2007.
Mick Karn - Sensitive (1982)

The Bill Nelson tune's quite cheeky isn't it..I saw Mick in action at Japan's last shows at Hammersmith Palais (82?)- incredible bass player
What a sad end : (
Davy,
It is sad. When I hear of things like this I remind myself to live life because you never know how ling you've got.
Mondo,
I saw Japan at Hammersmith Odeon in 1982 (Tin Drum Tour). Are we talking about the same shows?
Gloworld was written around a drum pattern supplied by Yukihiro Takehashi (as was most of Chimera). You'll notice he threw in some really sudden time changes to challenge Bill.
