It's cold outside...

The school's closed today so you can imagine how upset the boys are.

Update: We were a bit low on milk and bread so I’ve just walked up to the local Co-op for supplies. The snow’s about eight inches deep in places so it’s really quiet out there apart from that nice sound your boots make in the snow. I Don’t have to go into work til Wednesday.

I miss the balmy clime in GB. Where I live now, we've had eight feet of snow so far this winter. More is falling now.

You know how it is here - a couple of inches of snow and the whole country grinds to a halt.

Aye! Mrs McMick has been living south of the border about 20 years and she reckons it’s the most snow she’s ever seen down here. Of course it was worse in the auld country…

No work til Wednesday! Bah. Is it any wonder this country is looking down the barrel of a self loading recession when work-shy fops like you are ...

I'll meet you in the snug of the 3 ferrets at 12. Dominoes, pork scratchings, 6 pints of creamy hand-pulled and Deidrie's cleavage to behold. Davy H sorted me out wiv a crocheted hat.

Line ‘em up, Dick. And after Deirdre’s sent us old gits packing with a flea in our ear we’ll wonder round t’ village and get into some sort of bother that will somehow end in one of us rolling down a hill in a tin bath which has wheels for some inexplicable reason. Cue Ronnie Hazlehurst music…
