Monday

I pulled a random singles box out of the vinyl cupboard this weekend and the plan is to post a single every day this week. Shouldn’t be difficult.

I’m starting with this 60s girl group inspired jangly power pop gem. If that doesn’t arouse your curiosity nothing will.

Expressos - Tango In Mono (1981)

I used to tell ex-hippie acquaintances that punk and new wave were simply revivals of the best rock music of the 60's. In fact, I was anticipating the revivals that were to come. TIM is a brilliant bit of early neo-psychedelia.

That punkmodpop site referenced above is a great resource. For mp3's, change the url from bandlinks mp3 and lose yourself.

the album is ever better. I thought I might never find it but now my kids know these songs by heart.

H-Man, you don't want a wife, I'm telling you. "Promises and Ties" is interesting. A couple other revival bands that might be of interest are the Delmonas and the Delmontes. Both from France? Also, if you prefer a more edgy pop flavour, Bonnie Hayes and The Wild Combo nailed it.

Mick, dear, are you still with us? Or did have you exprired after your week of flutter?
