Before our next programme...

So you’re home from school watching ITV and they’ve got a few minutes to fill between Magpie and the Tomorrow People: what are they going to show?

I bought a new VCR in 1995 and I was overjoyed to discover the demo tape that came with it had this cartoon on it.

mp3: Roger Glover - Love Is All (1974) (Buy)
That’s Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Unbelievably, I don’t think I’ve ever heard him singing anything else but he sounds great on this.

I don't know what sounds more old fashioned - 'Magpie' and 'Tomorrow People' or 'VCR' and 'demo tape'...

This is lovely. I never saw it. I was a BBC and 'Blue Peter' kinda kid. You know the type. We got punched a lot at school.

I'm off to the corner shop now because the Mrs has just said, and I quote, she 'really fancies a Crunchie'.

How 70s is that?

.......along with Bazooka Joe bubble gum, black jacks and a sherbet fountain. *sign*

Davy,
Get her some Cresta to go with it.
TTV,
I remember the 'black tongue' effect of Black Jacks well.

Cripes! The mouse playing piano from 2:10 onward has a Blue Meanie mask on the back of his head!

Oh shoot, I'm going to have nightmares now, thanks a LOT.

Didn't mean to freak you out, man. It's all too much!!!

Trivia: when I was a kid I saw Yellow Submarine on a double bill with Thunderbird Six. How cool is that?

Fuck me - what a find!

Along with Tutankahmun and the widget in beer cans - probably the best discovery of recent times.
You can have a go on my new Chopper for that.

Best offer I've had today, DVD. Maybe it was only us yokels in the HTV area that got it...

No - I do remember it, just haven't seen it for 35 yrs. Perhaps it used to be slipped into the schedule when they didn't have a Public Information film to hand?
A'Charlie Says' or a 'Call the Coastguard, or a 'Reginald Molehusband' the aged cyclist.

Reginald Molehusband! I mentioned him at work a few years ago and I got blank looks all round. When I got home I turned to Mrs Mick for support and she didn't know him either (which is surprising if you see her trying to park).

P.S. Nice view up here, Petunia!
